After a one year pursuit of a Master's Degree, in 2005, Susan moved to Reno, NV in early 2006 and joined the staff of the Grand Sierra Resort, a 2000 room facility formerly owned and operated by the Hilton Hotel Company. The acquiring management initiated a new business plan with the objective of converting the hotel from a convention/group property into a destination resort.  Over 800 of the property's 2000 rooms are being upgraded to contemporary condominiums as a part of repositioning the business.   Susan has been elevated from her initial position to Deputy Director of Marketing for the Company's Hotel Condominium Division.  Susan loves her job as it entails dealing with new prospective clients for the hotel and she is able to meet and enjoy serving a variety of people both locally and across the Nation as she travels from community to community.

In May of 2007, Susan sold her Camarillo residential rental property and did an exchange into a golf course property in the retirement community of Gilbert Arizona.   Since the price of California beach town homes are substantially higher than inland desert properties, she was able to make a significant upgrade in quality and even have enough left over to purchase a second rental condominium property at the popular Tanamera Club in South Reno, Nevada.  Both properties are new and had willing rentors ready to take occupancy.

While still feeling somewhat like a displaced Southern Californian, Susan is developing a comfortable presence here in Reno.  She loves the Hotel business and hopes that the ongoing upgrading of the Grand Sierra Resort into a first class property will enable the hotel to reposition itself in the hospitality business to become a major destination resort here in the West.   One of the best parts of her job is the travel she must undertake to both domestic and international destinations in promotion of the Hotel
