Bud Brewer

Bud Brewer was born and raised in the Southern California community of North Hollywood in the San Fernando Valley. He attended the Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad California graduating with academic honors and the designation of “Silver A” Cadet, the Academy’s highest appointment. Bud took his undergraduate college work at The University of California at Berkeley. He Served as an officer in the United States Army having been designated as the honor graduate and distinguished military graduate of his class in the Infantry Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning Georgia. He met and married Dorothy Cruz of Waverly, Kentucky while serving as Post Treasurer at Ft. Campbell in that state and following his military service they made their home in various Southern California communities. He and Dorothy have five children and seven grandchildren. Bud joined Dean Witter & Co in 1953 and after 5 years as Branch Manager in Santa Monica, was named a Partner and Deputy Midwest Division Manager in 1966. He was named a Sr. Vice President & Director upon the company’s incorporation in 1971. In 1973 he left Dean Witter and joined Capital Guardian Trust to form that company’s Private Trust Services. In 1984 He launched the company’s new Trust Company in Reno, NV where he served as Executive Vice President and Director until the year 2000 when he retired to the life of more golf, tournament bridge and limited investment counseling. Bud’s “One Man’s Opinions” reflect his fifty three years of experience working with some of the best research analysts and portfolio managers in the world. His perspective and primary goal is to help senior investors preserve the real value of their wealth.
